Over the course of two weeks the Creative Space will transform into a live working studio, inviting the audience to observe and interact with the artist as new projects emerge from preliminary sketches to completed works. Tools, materials, and processes will be on display, alongside a suite of new and old works. By opening the studio to the public, ‘In the Making’ offers a rare glimpse into the often-private world of artistic creation, a ‘work in progress’ as a live exhibition.

Kristone has been teaching the weekly Kids Art Club and Adults Painting classes at Wentworth Point since the launch of the Community Centre arts programming in Feb 2020. Various drawing activities developed for these classes, intended as simple warm up exercises, have now found themselves deeply integral to the style and mark-making identity of Kristone’s overall body of work. This exhibition is a letter of gratitude to the hundreds of local students and families whom the artist have taught and served over the past few years.
