Exhibited as part of the Forgotten Faces exhibition, this portrait of Fattah Ghand is an example of one of those obscure ethnic ‘convicts’ or criminals present in late Colonial Australia. Fattah Ghand was an Indian hawker who was convicted in Melbourne for murder. His death mask is currently on display at The Old Melbourne Gaol.
